If you were to go to a mall and see two men kissing on each other, you probably would feel very uncomfortable from a straight man and straight woman's point of view, right? I would, but if the roles were reversed and it would have been two females kissing it probably would be a different story right? You rarely see a homosexual woman using PDA unlike homosexual guys. This is probably one reason why society doesn't like homosexual guys. Women are way more discreet with their business. Rather than guys wanting to be “out there” as some of my gay guy friends would call it. Women also care a lot about how others view them, as in that typical cliche “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Women judge other women regardless if they are obviously gay or not. Women seek others approval, what is right from wrong. Kind of like follow the leader “trends.” If you're gay then I’ll be gay to. Gay guys just do not care, they believe that they were gay from birth.
In society nowadays people believe that it is not okay or accepted by others when they see a gay male. Homosexuality is actually looked down upon by different ethnicities, cultures, and religions. According to what the Bible says, “Homosexuality is an abomination to God.” So now you have fundamentalish christians slapping their Bibles on their children for voicing their preferred sexuality, “coming out the closet.” Not all christians or even other religions automatically throw the Bible on their child. But at the end of the day God’s answers about homosexuality will always be right over how their son/daughter feels. They are still not accepted. It doesn’t just stop at homsexuality, we have transgender people in the world as well. More men are wanting to be women, than women wanting to transition to men. Men transitioning into women scares other men. For the simple fact that the transitioned man will not tell their partner that they were once a man. To another guy if they were once a man they are still considered a man. They don’t want to be considered gay for having a partner that was once a man.
From
talking with my straight friends, having my personal view of this
topic, and researching. Gay men are not accepted because of how they act
in public. As in the slang they use, how they dress up all the way down
to the switch in their walk. It is all frowned upon, because it makes
others feel uncomfortable. How would you explain to your child a guy
walking around with a purse and heels on? You can’t it’s quite
impossible in my opinion. Gay men want to be women and to another man
they are considered a sissy. This day and age straight guys believe that
a man's duty is to protect and provide for their family. Not to be the
one getting taken care of. A man should bring home the food to put on
the table, not be the one cooking it in an apron. Women on the other
hand can still get what they need done and still have a homosexual
lifestyle. Other than the fact people judge them just as hard as they
judge gay guys. Women just tend to brush it off as with a guy, they
would like to make a big dramatic scene about it. My gay friends call it
“being a queen.”
Everyone
has their own personal opinion on whether people should be gay or not.
But in the end they will still love whomever they decided to. Who are we
to judge and say they can’t? Well, it technically isn't our place. But
this day and age people feel obligated to voice their opinion on
situations they as one person can’t control. So as a community they set
out on small problems and turn them into HUGE problems. Perfect example,
the Chick-fil-A controversy. Chief operating officer Dan Cathy made a statement opposing same-sex marriage. They had made millions of donations which opposed LGBT
rights. According to USA TODAY “53% said they are boycotting, 43% said
they would continue to eat their food and 5% were undecided.” All while
this is happening all the gay guys are acting out, standing in front of
Chick- fil-A with their gay flags. While the gay women aren't taking it
as serious and making a big deal about it. Simply because Dan Cathy
never once said he did not like gay people. Cathy said, “they don’t
support same sex marriage.” Just as gay guys like to make a little
situation big, this was one of them.
I think you make some good points and I know this is late to comment but I like your post!
