Do you call it like you see it?

Do you call it like you see it?

For the past couple of decades the disrespect women get from men and sometimes other women has gone through the roof, why is that? I constructed a survey of my own to see how frequently the words “bitch” and “hoe” are used to describe a woman. The survey asked, “Have you ever called a female out of their name?” I asked twenty people, males and females, and out of those twenty people all of the answers were yes. I wondered why? Is it the way a female dresses? The way she carries herself? Or is it just pure ignorance in the world today with people trying to follow the correct trend of the month?
I was listening to Ciara’s song “Like a Boy” and in her song she says, “if I had a thing on the side, made you cry; would the role change up or still apply. If I played you like a toy, sometimes I wish I could act like a boy.” This kept replaying in my head and if the roles did reverse the women would get the name “hoe”. According to men, women can not “act like a lady, think like a man.” What is a hoe to be exact? Coming from a wikipedia source ahoe is a garden tool or a Korean dish of raw fish. I don’t know any females that are garden tools, or even a dish or Korean fish. Just to keep it real. I wouldn't want to be called a Bitch, meaning a female dog. Well, who would want to be called out of their name?
If a woman is wearing something revealing to that specific person is she a slut? I see, and hear this all the time, “I call it how I see it.” So basically you’re saying if you see a man with tattoos then he is a gang banger or a so called “bad guy.” Labeled as a thug. But tattoos are popular these days, and so are tight fitting skirts. Anywhere you go, or anything you do people are going to have something negative to say. If a girl wants to wear a mini skirt she should be able to wear one and not get called out of her name for dressing the way she likes. In her opinion she thinks she is pretty. Who are you to rain on their parade?
Men aren’t the only ones guilty about this. Women are just as bad. Maybe even worse. Honestly, females hate on other females, especially when the female gets attention from other guys. It’s some kind or territorial claim. Meaning, they want to be the center of attention, and thats with every female. You shouldn’t hate on another female that’s petty. When a man calls a woman out of her name that is very disrespectful, but when a woman allows it and does the same thing as the man that’s even worse because you are a woman and you’re saying it’s okay to be called that.
Now back to the real question, do you call it how you see it? I’m pretty sure everyone is somewhat guilty of this situation. I just want to make it known how bad it is. It’s in the music we listen to. The television we watch and the schools we attend. In Lupe Fiasco’s, “Bitch Bad ,“he addresses the black community on the way their music is. In his song he is saying the women like to be called a “bad bitch” because the media makes it look like a good thing. In the lyrics Lupe says, “First he’s relating the word ‘bitch’ to his moma comma and because she’s relatin’ to herself, his most important source of help.” Lupe is saying that the little boys are picking up the word “bitch” from their mommas because she is referring to herself as a “bad bitch”. Now I want to change the way men and women think. It starts by taking those words out of your vocabulary. Do you call it like you see it?

  1. I love your sentence on the end of your fourth paragraph "When a man calls a woman out of her name that is disrespectful, but when a woman allows it and does the same thing as the man that's even worse because you are a woman and you're saying it's okay to be called that." That is so true, I think about that all the time, couldn't have said it better.
