So Much Love, Not Enough Time

We all know men and women are different from the inside to the outside. An argument can be made from nothing as long as you have a female and a male present. Disagreement always present themselves while involving a male and females, and there is rarely a time where you can get the two genders to come together on a topic unless its a common issue. One difference that has been under review by many people even experts are how men view their relationships over the way women view relationships. Everything is fine when people are just friends, but when you throw the word “relationship” in the mix everything is flipped. What is commitment in the eyes of a man?

There has to be something about commitment that changes and gives diversity to the way men and women handle or view their relationships. Is it that as a man you want a fully committed woman while having the freedom to do as you please? Statistics show it is an estimated 30 to 60% of men in marriages that cheat on their spouse at least once. So with that being said about marriage the percentage has to be a lot higher in regular relationships. As a man I sometimes sit and wonder why is it that I have a lady and at the same time lust over other women? Am I not happy or is this somehow embedded into my DNA? Its easier for a man to pick up and leave? Maybe its the fact we aren’t as attached or emotional as a female would be so it is easier to break away and do what we want.

Being in college I see a lot of this male mentality on campus everyday and maybe this is because we are young and honestly don’t know what we want in life. We as males feel like a slight conversation is ok, but is this ok in the eyes of your partner in the relationship? As college males we feel as if this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about women and ourselves.This is the only time that we’ll ever have this many single females around so anxious to learn as much as we want to know.Young college males are like kids with a birthday cake. We like our own cake, but prefer it to be refrigerated. At the same time we like to make sure our cake is hands off while we attend other parties for a taste that reminds us of what we had before our cake was covered with a “sweet and sour relationship frosting”. This isn’t only an issue in college, but also an issue in society and we see it everyday. In some music today artist make it seem like its ok to be in a relationship and also step outside the to do as you please. The conflict comes in when the woman decides that this isn’t the kind of relationship she wants. She wants the male to be as fully committed and into this relationship as she is or would like to be. Women seek fulfillment, completion, and love out of relationships but that always becomes the last thing on a man’s mind among other things. I feel men love the idea of having or being in a relationship and women love the true feeling of it. Women will go on for days about what it is they want and long for, but they never think about what it takes to get there.

As I said “men seek freedom to converse with whom they please.” Is that because women aren’t putting their all into this relationships they long for? If women were to give what it is they ask for would this make things better or would men continue to do as they please? Men will find the smallest excuse to do whatever it is they please and no one is perfect so there will come a time where we all as humans will make those mistakes. So as men we jump off the deep end and constantly cheat on women. Now if the shoe was on the other foot opposed to cheating women will work at a relationship over and over and try to fix the problem even if more than one problem presents itself. Women will always care for and put forth more effort than a male in a relationship and this is because that is what they truly want. LOVE!
