Female Violence Epidemic

Are Women more violent than men these days?

A lot of things have changed in the past couple of decades. The way children are raised, the different genres of music, and even the way people act in certain situations. This brings up the topic of violence. Women were the ones that held their composure back in the day when something went wrong. Now things are completely different. It seems like women are more violent than men now in time. The media portrays women violence more than anything. The question is are women more violent than men?
When it comes to ,“lashing out”,  “Women lash out more frequently than their husbands or boyfriends”, coming from John Archer. I agree with him. I believe that women have a harder time controlling their anger than men. Reality television doesn’t make it any better. The show "The Bad Girls Club" shows “bad girls” fighting each other. It’s suppose to “change them” but I think it makes the girls act worse. Another show that shows a lot of women violence is "Basketball Wives"”,These women are successful but they still want to go on public TV and lash out on each other.
When it comes to the female prison system, A new report commissioned by the Institute on Women & Criminal Justice finds that female imprisonment in the U.S. has skyrocketed 757 percent since 1977. Women are going to prison more and more each year. Violence even occurs in the prisons. Women prisons are worse than male prisons. A whole lot of bullying goes on behind those cell bars. People stabbing each other and stealing from each other.
I agree that women are more violent. I think it’s the way females handle situations. It’s the total opposite the way a man would handle them. Females tend to do more sneaky, petty things. Little things like that get under other people’s skin. Most female fights start from he said she said. To me men fight over things you should fight for. Things like betrayal. Not what Ashley says about Michelle, just using those names for example. Women know how to use mind games against others. That could be a good thing, and it could also lead to something it shouldn’t lead to.
How can we as women make this epidemic better. I feel like we can change the way we think. Females shouldn’t let little things get to them. I know we are all guilty of this, but things need to change. We need strong women out in the world. Not in the prison systems. Lets start today and make the future better for us and our children.

  1. I think that in the past couple of years women have been treated with less respect than they used to be. Twenty years ago no one would have come up with a show called "The Bad Girls Club" because no one would think of women conducting themselves that way. Now that women are thought of in society with less respect, popular culture doesn't automatically assume that the average women would restrain any anger she felt and act with class just because she is a women. Now it is the exact opposite. Have women changed? Maybe a little, but what has really changed is the way they are viewed.

  2. I agree with what Rebecca said. Now, there are television shows that play women being violent and its suppose to be cool. When we go out, we notice that there are women who look to fight other women and get a kick out of it.
